Reflecting on a Year of Botanical Exploration at Zuplex

As 2025 begins, we at Zuplex are proud to reflect on a year of growth and exciting diversification in our botanical offerings. Over the last year, we introduced a number of new extracts to our cosmetic portfolio, striking a balance between what formulators know and trust and lesser known, more unique African botanicals with untapped cosmetic potential.

As global markets evolve, ensuring that our extracts comply with China’s safety standards and are listed on the Chinese IECIC is vital. For many manufacturers this remains an important priority and wherever possible we ensure that our cosmetic extracts meet international standards.

We have updated and expanded our functional beverages range, which now includes a range of mushroom extracts, all with unique benefits. We have also expanded our cosmetic extract range with the following additions;

1. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

Known for its adaptogenic properties, Ashwagandha is a timeless ingredient with roots in Ayurvedic tradition. In skincare, it helps combat stress-induced skin damage, supporting skin rejuvenation and balance. It can restore hair loss caused by stress or environmental pollutants. Its soothing effects make it ideal for formulations aimed at restoring vitality.

2. Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola)

Centella Asiatica has long been celebrated for its ability to heal and repair the skin. Rich in triterpenoids, it strengthens the skin barrier, reduces inflammation, and has a remarkable ability to promote collagen synthesis—making it a staple in formulations targeting sensitive, ageing, or damaged skin.

3. Chamomile (Chamomilla recutita)

Famous for its calming properties, Chamomile extract contains bioactive compounds such as chamazulene and bisabolol, which reduce redness and soothe irritation. It’s an essential ingredient for products designed for sensitive or reactive skin types.

4. Impepho (Helichrysum odoratissimum)

A unique addition to the cosmetic world, Impepho is deeply rooted in African traditional medicine. It offers antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits, making it especially effective for problem skin, including acne-prone formulations.

As we look forward to the next year,  Zuplex remains dedicated to bridging nature, science, and compliance to empower formulators with premium botanical solutions.
