Zuplex Botanicals is a South African based manufacturer of clinically tested active extracts using innovative technologies. Zuplex is vertically integrated and offers services from cultivation to the final preparation of extracts.
ACCESS & BENEFIT SHARING
Nagoya Protocol
Zuplex strives for full compliance with the Nagoya protocol. Zuplex has a Biotrade and Bioprospecting permit issued by the Department of Environmental Affairs in South Africa, covering around 80 indigenous plant species.
Zuplex signs Benefit Sharing Agreements (BSAs) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) with both suppliers and customers, as appropriate.
Zuplex was one of the first South African companies to conclude ABS agreements with the Khoi and the San peoples, the owners of the traditional knowledge associated with the following species:

Traceability
We ensure that all botanical material used by Zuplex is of high quality, sustainably cultivated or harvested, and fully traceable.
Cosmos approval
All our cosmetic extracts are COSMOS approved.
Halaal Certification
All our cosmetic extracts are Halaal certified
FSSC22000
We operate a fully certified FSSC22000 production facility, allowing us to provide our customers with a high level of quality assurance.
Environmental Best Practice
Zuplex strives to minimise adverse environmental effects across its processes, including sourcing, manufacture, packaging and transportation. This includes reducing energy consumption, and minimising and managing waste responsibly.
